Reply with quote | #1 | Dear Laurel Because of you I have worked on improving my piano playing. I played at a nursing home here in Paducah once a month. And play a piano solo of arrangements I have worked out. And because of you I have broadened my interest toward music. Such Blues Boogie Ragtime country And music that was done in the thirties and forties done by such artists as Glenn Miller Benny Goodman Count Bassie Cab Calloway Duke Ellington. Boots Randolph passed away July 4th I believe this year. I have seen the saxophone that he learned to play on. at the old Market House museum in Paducah Ky where I live. I met Reggie Lafaye known as Mr Gosple Sax and told him my story how I got started playing the Alto saxophone. That was at the veterans I played in the Paducah concert band at Heartland Worship center in Paducah Ky. And it was the first Band concert I ever played in my life. Your friend Randy |
